Mourad Medelci: “Accusations of the Libyan Transitional Council are dilatory tactics”

Accusations of the Libyan Transitional Council are just dilatory tactics and do not have any connection with the crisis in this country, FM Mourad Medelci said on the National Radio here on Friday.

“Foreign Ministry already refuted these allegations. We expressed our conviction on these accusations, which we consider being dilatory and based on agendas that have no relation with the Libyan case because it is clear that they are older than the Libyan crisis”, Mourad Medelci asserted.

Medelci spoke about his Monday’s phone call with Alain Juppe saying that they discussed the bilateral ties between France and Algeria, and asserting that talks noticed a progress in particular at the level of industrial partnership. He pointed out that this phone call coincides with the visit of the Minister of Industry, Small and Medium-sized Institutions, and Investment Promotion, Mohamed Ben Meradi, to Paris, where he met with a former PM and deputy chairman of the senate Jean Pierre Raffarin.

“We discussed the situation in Libya and the accusations made by the Transitional National Council against Algeria. Alain Juppe said these allegations are wrong and rumors based on random information trying to implicate Algeria in the Libyan conflict and that France did not choose a party against another in this crisis”, Medelci explained.

On the other hand, the FM Mourad Medelci said that Algeria’s position in favor of a political solution to the crisis in Libya; “The political solution to the crisis in Libya was forwarded by the African Union and is the same proposed by Algeria. We are witnessing a very complicated situation where Libyans are fighting against each other, while other parties work to aggravate the state of war”.
